And now for a moment of shameless self-promotion.We just learned that our iPad app The Human Face of Big Data has been selected as one of five finalists for this year’s Webby Awards (out of 11,000 entries from 60 countries!). I had the pleasure of working with design rock star Diane Dempsey Murray on the project, which also includes an award-winning hardcover book. Rick Smolan, the man behind all the fun, says it feels like David and Goliath because we are up against stiff competition from The Smithsonian, The American Museum of Natural History and The World Wildlife Foundation (gulp!) So if you’re feeling generous, please take a second and vote.
Here’s a Vimeo video that gives a good sense of the richness of the app and why its up for a Webby:
PS: The app costs just $2.99 and we are donating 100% of all proceeds to Charity : Water.
PPS: The reviews have been extraordinary:Huffington Post…a curious, wonderful beast … that captures a virtual universe… one of those rare animals that captures its era in the most distinct of ways.
