Both playful and symbolic, his ability to emulate the style of the Dutch masters elevates what could be come saccharine into fine art. In his New York City studio he preps for his paintings by baking elaborate backdrops and sets, photographing models floating on clouds of candyfloss, landscapes packed with lollipops, and giant hats made from macarons.
