California-based Double Robotics has invented a way to turn your iPad into a roving robot. For only $1,999 you can move, explore, peek, scare, and speak with with someone half-way around the world. Double, which its maker claims offers the “most elegant way to be somewhere else in the world without flying there,” consists of a pair of wheels, a battery-powered motor, an adjustable pole and an iPad holder. The whole thing is controlled remotely by someone using Double’s app on another iPad.
